S DBIx::Connection nemám žádné zkušenosti, ale používám DBIx::Connector (v podstatě to, co DBIx::Class používá interně, ale vložené) a je to úžasné...
Tato připojení sdružuji pomocí obálky objektů Moose, která vrací existující instance objektů, pokud jsou parametry připojení identické (to by fungovalo stejně pro jakýkoli podkladový objekt DB):
