Alias potřebujete pouze tehdy, když odkazujete na sloupec, který není jednoznačně definován. To znamená, že sloupec existuje ve více než jedné tabulce/odvozené tabulce. Odkaz může být v příkazu select nebo spojení. Pokud jsou všechny sloupce jedinečné, pak alias nepotřebujete.
Dávám přednost aliasům vždy kvůli srozumitelnosti a protože to pomáhá s Intellisense v PL/SQL.
